ISMB/ECCB 2025 Conference
When: July 20 – 24, 2025
Where: Liverpool, UK & online
From July 20 to 24, 2025, the international conference ISMB/ECCB 2025 (Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology and the European Conference on Computational Biology) will bring together researchers working at the intersection of biology and computation. Held both in person in Liverpool and online via the ISCB Nucleus platform, the event offers flexible access for participants around the world.
Organised by the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), the conference features a broad programme of over 500 talks, with sessions curated by the society’s Communities of Special Interest (COSIs). Topics include genomics, algorithm development, structural biology, machine learning, and the use of AI in health and life sciences. On-site participants can attend poster sessions and networking events, while virtual attendees will have access to livestreamed sessions, live Q&A, and on-demand recordings.
Before the main programme begins, participants can take part in pre-conference tutorials, held virtually on July 14 – 15 and in person on July 20. Topics include Snakemake workflows, single-cell data analysis, text mining, as well as machine learning in omics, Mendelian randomisation, and quantum machine learning. Tutorials are open to both early-career and experienced researchers. Registration for tutorials closes on July 10, 2025, or earlier if full.
Conference registration is open, with no fixed deadline. Fees vary depending on membership, participation format and country of residence. For virtual attendance, prices range from £105 to £480, while in-person registration ranges from £260 to £1025. Tutorials are paid separately, up to £85 for virtual sessions and £165 for in-person.
ISMB/ECCB 2025 offers space to explore new developments, exchange ideas, and stay connected to the international bioinformatics community – whether on site or online.
