New version of ELSST Thesaurus
CESSDA has released a new version of the European Language Social Science Thesaurus (ELSST) that can be used for data discovery within CESSDA and facilitates access to data resources across Europe. This latest version includes revisions of certain terms and establishes a link to the CESSDA Data Catalogue.
The ELSST thesaurus covers the key social science disciplines: politics, sociology, economics, education, law, crime, demography, health, employment, information and communication technology and environmental science. It is available in 15 languages, including Czech.
Thesauri, also known as controlled vocabularies or ontologies, are systematic and structured collections of terms that define and standardize terminology in specific fields, facilitating data sharing and discovery. These tools contribute to greater data interoperability by promoting the sharing and understanding of information across different domains and language groups.
