Large Language Models in EOSC EU Node

Deploying large language models (LLMs) is now significantly easier in the European research environment thanks to EOSC EU Node. Through the Tools Hub, researchers can launch modern AI models within their secure User Space in just a few clicks—without the need for complex installation or infrastructure management.

Deployment is carried out using pre-configured workflows and the Ollama tool, enabling rapid experimentation as well as integration of models into research processes. By default, the Llama 3 model is available, but users can also choose European alternatives, such as EuroLLM, developed within a European-funded project, or Mistral, created by the French company Mistral AI. These tools are intended exclusively for non-commercial research, educational, and experimental purposes.

EOSC EU Node is a platform that supports multi-disciplinary and international research, facilitating the use of FAIR data and supplementary services in Europe and beyond. It provides researchers with tools and guidance to plan, execute, share, and assess their research workflows and outcomes across the entire EOSC ecosystem. At the same time, EOSC EU Node is the first European-level node of the EOSC Federation, offering the technical and administrative framework for establishing additional nodes within the federated research infrastructure.

Thanks to the integration of the Tools Hub, working with LLMs becomes a natural part of the research process. EOSC EU Node provides a secure and user-friendly pathway to advanced AI technologies and is continuously expanding its toolset, opening up new opportunities across research disciplines. A detailed guide on using LLMs can be found here.
