The J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences is announcing a call for applications for the position of Software Developer in the Open Science Team.

We are looking for a team member to develop and deploy software for scientific data management within Open Science projects.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in Java / Kotlin / Python
- Knowledge of system architecture, including:
- HTTP(S), REST API
- Databases and SQL
- Object-oriented programming
- Microservices
- Experience in web application development
- Ability to analyze code and implement new features
- Experience with project management in Git
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the concept of linked data
- Ability to learn and use relevant tools in application development
- Good command of English (minimum B2 level)
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience with containerization and virtualization tools
- Deploying services on container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Practical knowledge of NoSQL databases, including:
- Understanding the concept of linked data
- Working with graph databases / RDF triple stores (Neo4j, Virtuoso, Apache Jena, etc.)
- Designing and implementing software using NoSQL databases
- Experience using SPARQL endpoints
