Requirements for data management
As part of research projects starting in 2024, it is now mandatory to describe data management, in line with current legislation. Recipients are required to submit a Data Management Plan (DMP) outlining the availability and dissemination of research results and research data, which can only be withheld in justified cases (as per § 9 (1)(l), (m) of Act No. 130/2002 Coll.).
Recipients of funding are thus expected to submit a DMP usually with the first interim report and regularly update it. The DMP must include details on the availability and dissemination of research results and data. It is always necessary to check specific requirements for a project according to the grant agreement.
For creating the DMP, the FAIR Wizard tool can be utilized, to which the library provides access for anyone interested from the CAS. This is an online service designed for easy DMP creation, where most of the questions are linked to external resources, explaining in detail their specific purpose and the rationale for their relationship to good data management. The user is thus “guided” in the creation of the DMP and through the prevalent questions with predefined answer choices and is freed from having to “write” another appendix to the project documentation.
