News on funder requirements: OP JAK and TA CR

MŠMT – OP JAK

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) has published a Data Management Plan Checklist ( Kontrolní list Plánu správy dat, only in Czech) for recipients of OP JAK research calls OP JAK (02_22_008 Excellent Research; 02_23_025 Social Sciences and Humanities – Humanity and Mankind in the Global Challenges of Today; 02_23_020 Intersectoral Cooperation; and 02_23_021 Intersectoral Cooperation for ITI). This checklist is intended to help recipients verify that all key areas are covered in their DMP.

The document is based on the Horizon Europe DMP structure and provides a list of topics organized by the chapters in the Horizon Europe template. The FAIR Wizard questionnaires (CAS Common DSW – HE filter and CAS Life Science DSW – HE filter) are likewise built on this template. Therefore, if you use the FAIR Wizard, as MŠMT recommends, and complete all questions relevant to your project and its current phase, your DMP will meet OP JAK requirements. FAIR Wizard also offers an option to export the DMP directly in the MŠMT template.

TA ČR

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) has released a new version of its document Research Data and Open Access to Outputs/Results (Výzkumná data a otevřený přístup k výstupům/výsledkům, only in Czech) which clarifies its requirements concerning open access and data management.

For public in research, development and innovation and international calls, TA CR requires publication of research data. If open access to all or some data cannot be provided, recipients must justify this thoroughly in their DMP and at least publish metadata. Recipients and other project participants are not obliged to share data if doing so would cause an unreasonable interference with:
a. Intellectual property rights;
b. Privacy and personal data protection;
c. Trade secrets, state security, or other legitimate interests of the recipient (e.g., potential commercial use).

The DMP must be submitted with the first interim report and then updated annually. It is acceptable to use the Horizon Europe template in FAIR Wizard (CAS Common DSW – HE filter and CAS Life Science DSW – HE filter).

Obligations for open access to results are always stated in the tender documentation/terms of the relevant public competition or international call. TA CR recognizes the green, gold, and diamond Open Access routes; in all cases, outputs/results and research data must also be deposited in a repository.
