This autumn brings two opportunities to explore the Czech Core Metadata Model (CCMM) – a national standard for describing research data in the Czech Republic – and the Dataspecer tool, which supports the creation and management of metadata profiles. Both events are organized by the National Library of Technology (NTK) in Prague and are aimed primarily at data stewards, curators, and repository managers. The events are designed to build on each other: the seminar will provide a theoretical foundation and overview of key principles, while the workshop will offer hands-on practice.

The follow-up workshop will be a full-day hands-on event in the NTK Education Centre, intended for curators and repository managers who will be implementing CCMM in practice. Participants will work with a sample deposit form, create and manage metadata profiles, and learn the basics of building an application profile in Dataspecer. Most of the workshop will be devoted to practical exercises, so participants are required to bring their own laptop. The workshop is limited to 30 participants and will be conducted in Czech.
