Webinar: Reproducible Workflows in R
3. June; 10:00 - 11:00
The Infra4NextGen project is hosting a webinar on reproducible workflows in R, taking place on Tuesday morning, June 3, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 CEST. The topic is especially important for researchers working with large-scale sociological survey data, but will also offer valuable insights for anyone involved in international comparative research – including staff at data archives and data services.
Franz Eder from the University of Innsbruck will present tools and strategies for efficient and reproducible data analysis in R. Participants will learn:
- – how to use the renv package to create reproducible environments in R projects,
- – how to work with the {targets} package to build a clear and structured workflow in the form of a pipeline.
Examples will be demonstrated using newly collected data from the CROss-National Online Survey 3 (CRONOS-3), which is being implemented as part of the Infra4NextGen project. The online questionnaire is centrally managed by the European Social Survey (ESS) and administered by Centerdata in collaboration with national research teams across Europe. The Czech Republic is represented by the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, which contributes to the data collection together with institutions from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom.
