Webinar: Make your research FAIRer – registration
30. June
On July 8, 2025, the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) will host a practical, one-day online course aimed at helping life science researchers make their work more FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. The webinar, Reusable Analysis: Make Your Research FAIRer with Quarto, GitHub and Zenodo, offers a hands-on introduction to tools that support open and reproducible science.
Participants will learn how to:
- Create shareable, well-documented notebooks using Quarto, a scientific and technical publishing system based on Markdown.
- Track and version their work with Git, a widely used version control system, and GitHub, a platform for hosting and collaborating on code.
- Publish websites using GitHub Pages.
- Archive results in Zenodo, an open-access repository that assigns DOIs to research outputs.
These skills help ensure that research workflows are transparent, shareable, and accessible over the long term. The course is designed for computational biologists, bioinformaticians, and other life science researchers with basic knowledge of R or Python. A GitHub account and pre-installed tools (R, RStudio or VSCode, and Quarto) are required.
The registration deadline is June 30, 2025, or until the course fills. Fees are 100 CHF for academics and 500 CHF for participants from for-profit institutions.
Details and registration are available here; more information can also be found here.
