August 31, 2025

On Semptember 12, a one-day event Making Sense of Open Science Public Hearing on the Principles and Practices of Data Management, Publishing Regimes, and Public Engagement in Science will be held, intended for academics, policymakers, representatives of major Czech scientific institutions, and interested members of the public.

The meeting aims to create a space for discussion around key pillars of open science, such as open access, open data, and public engagement in science. These discussions are intended not only for representatives of key stakeholders involved in implementing open science principles within the Czech research environment but also for the broader academic community and interested members of the public. In addition to mapping the current state and future directions of Open Science, discussions will examine its relationship to scientific trustworthiness, institutional resilience, and the use of emerging digital technologies. Special attention will be paid to how Open Science principles intersect with scientific integrity and ethics.
