ECSA 2026 Conference: Citizen Science bridging Centre and Periphery

March 3 – 6, 2026

When: March 3–6, 2026
Where: Oulu, Finland

The European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) organizes its 6th conference about citizen science that will be held at the University of Oulu in northern Finland at the beginning of March. The theme of the 2026 conference is Citizen Science bridging Centre and Periphery. This theme highlights the diversity across regions, from urban metropolitan hubs to remote northern and southern spaces. It explores citizen science’s vital connections to sustainability, culture, history, political and legal systems, resources, public health and more.

ECSA conferences take place every two years and bring together hundreds of researchers, practitioners in the field of citizen science, policymakers, science funders, NGOs and interested citizens. The conference program includes lectures, workshops, round tables and opportunities for networking.

Registration is open until February 15.

You can find more information including registration and program on the conference website.
