Conference – Open Science: Monitoring Progress, Assessing Impact
7. July - 8. July
UNESCO, PathOS, EOSC Track, Open Science Monitoring Initiative (OSMI) and OpenAIRE jointly organize the international conference “Open Science: Monitoring Progress, Assessing Impact”, which will take place on July 7-8 in Paris, with the option of online participation. This conference focuses on the need to monitor and assess the impact of Open Science initiatives at a time when their global adoption is accelerating.
Open Science, as emphasized in the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, promotes inclusive, transparent and collaborative research practices and ensures that scientific knowledge is accessible to all. As global adoption accelerates, monitoring becomes essential for assessing impact, identifying gaps and strengthening implementation strategies.
The Open Science Impact Pathways (PathOS) project, launched in September 2022, is a three-year project funded by the European Union that focuses on identifying and developing these critical monitoring approaches. This conference, marking the culmination of this project, provides a platform for sharing insights, validating findings and supporting the development of principles outlined in the UNESCO Recommendation. The event also aims to foster collaboration across different initiatives.
More information including registration options can be found here.
Capacity for in-person attendance at the conference is already full, but registration for online participation is still open.
