Webinar: Researchers’ Journeys in Opening Cultural and Historical Data
When: September 16, 2025, 10:00–11:30
Where: online
CSC – IT Center for Science in Finland is hosting a webinar Researchers’ Journeys in Opening Cultural and Historical Data, designed both for researchers interested in practical examples of data publication Tand data support professionals.
This practical webinar aims to demystify the process of data publishing and help participants better understand what it involves in the context of cultural and historical research. By sharing concrete examples and real experiences, the session seeks to lower the barriers to opening up research data and inspire more researchers to make their work accessible.
Key questions explored:
- What motivated the researchers to make their data openly available?
- What steps did they take during the process?
- Has the data been reused, and what benefits—if any—has sharing brought to their own research group or to others
- What challenges did they encounter, and what lessons have they learned for the future?
The webinar will feature brief presentations by researchers, followed by open discussions.
