Trio of Webinars from the OSTrails Interoperability Framework Project
The European OSTrails (Open Science Trails) project is hosting a series of three online webinars, which will introduce participants to the key components of the OSTrails Interoperability Framework initiative. The goal of this initiative is to develop a framework and guidelines to ensure interoperability at various stages of research and data management – from planning to monitoring and evaluation. The webinars will focus on ensuring and assessing the “fairness” of research data (FAIRifying Research Outputs), interoperability in data management planning (Data Management Planning), and harmonizing information sharing and semantic interoperability through scientific knowledge graphs (Scientific Knowledge Graphs).
- OSTrails Interoperability Framework – FAIR-IF: A Unified Framework for Consistently FAIRifying Research Outputs
When: April 28, 2025, 11:00 – 12:00 (CEST)
This webinar will focus on how FAIR-IF helps standardize the tools used for assessing the “fairness” of research data. The aim is to make the choice of the assessment tool less important by integrating these tools into other systems, such as data management planning (DMP) authoring tools, so that users won’t be directly aware of using them.
Speaker: Mark Wilkinson, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
Moderator: Tassos Stavropoulos, OpenAIRE

- OSTrails Interoperability Framework – DMP-IF: A Unified Framework to Automate and Standardize DMP Information Exchange
When: April 29, 2025, 11:00 – 12:00 (CEST)
This webinar will focus on the DMP-IF initiative, which facilitates the integration of research data management tools. It will cover the need for better interoperability in data management planning and demonstrate how DMP-IF supports the entire research lifecycle.
Speaker: Marek Suchánek, CTU in Prague
Moderator: Tassos Stavropoulos, OpenAIRE
Registration and more information here.
- OSTrails Interoperability Framework – SKG-IF: A Unified Framework to Ensure SKG Information Exchange and Semantic Interoperability
When: April 30, 2025, 11:00 – 12:00 (CEST)
This webinar will introduce the SKG-IF framework, which ensures smooth information exchange and semantic interoperability between different initiatives using scientific knowledge graphs. The session will cover the main components of SKG-IF, such as the data model, interoperability framework, API specifications, and the customization mechanism based on community needs.
Speaker: Andrea Mannocci, CNR-ISTI, Pisa, Italy
Moderator: Tassos Stavropoulos, OpenAIRE
