Online Course: Introduction to RDM

The National Science Centre Poland offers an online course on the basics of Research Data Management (RDM) in the context of Open Science. It is intended for researchers, PhD students, and anyone preparing to conduct research, regardless of discipline, and does not require any prior experience. The course is delivered in English.
The course introduces the fundamentals of open scientific communication, planning and organizing research data, and preparing a Data Management Plan (DMP). It also covers data storage and sharing according to the FAIR principles, as well as research data repositories, persistent identifiers, metadata, legal aspects of data management, and the role of a data steward within an institution.
The course is structured into six modules and is recommended to be completed over six weeks, with an estimated workload of 3–5 hours per week. It can be taken at your own pace. Each module includes a quiz, and there is a final test; to receive a certificate, participants must complete all modules and achieve at least 55% overall, with each test allowed up to three attempts.
