DCN Webinar – CURATED Fundamentals
When: December 16, 2025, 19:00 – 22:00 CET
Where: online
The Data Curation Network (DCN) is hosting an online workshop CURATED Fundamentals focusing on research data curation. The workshop uses the CURATED model developed by DCN to guide participants through key practices involved in the curation of research data in a peer-to-peer learning environment. During the workshop, participants will implement their skills against a real-world dataset, gaining hands-on experience.
DCN developed the CURATED steps, standardized set steps and checklists to ensure that all datasets receive consistent treatment. C-U-R-A-T-E-D stands for:
- C — Check files/code and read documentation
- U — Understand the data
- R — Request missing information or changes
- A — Augment metadata for findability
- T — Transform file formats for reuse
- E — Evaluate for FAIRness
- D — Document all curation activities throughout the process.
You can find more information about the workshop here.
Data Curation Network (DCN) is a membership organisation od institutional and nono-profit data repositories with the aim to support open research and enable researchers to publish research data according to FAIR principles.
