Citizen Science workshop

When: 28 January 2025

Where: Impact HUB, Cyrilská 7, Brno

Language: Czech

Institute of Geonics of the Czech Academy of Sciences is organizing a workshop “INVOLVING THE PUBLIC IN RESEARCH: HOW TO DO IT?”. This citizen science workshop is organized in support of the European Call for Impetus 2025.

The workshop will provide basic information about citizen science and its possibilities with practical examples from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and abroad. You will also have the opportunity to test your own project ideas and get immediate feedback, establish collaboration and become part of the citizen science community.

The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as for those who already have their own projects and want to improve them. It is also open to anyone who is interested in citizen science: scientists, teachers, representatives of non-profit organizations and public institutions, librarians, or individuals who just want to get started.

You can register for the workshop via the form, or by using the QR code on the Citizen Science website. Workshop capacity is limited to 20 participants.

This workshop will be followed thematically by a second meeting of the informal “working group” on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 1 – 3 pm in Prague. The aim of this meeting is to institutionalize CitSci in the Czech Republic and Slovakia through a platform similar to those found in many European countries. If you are interested in participating in this meeting, please contact the Citizen Science team for further information .
