GraspOS Final Conference: Programme and Registration

When: November 12–13, 2025
Where: Pisa, Italy & online

The final conference of the European project GraspOS will take place in Pisa, Italy, on November 12–13, 2025. Titled Opening Research Assessment, the event will explore how to reform research assessment systems in line with the principles of Open Science. The GraspOS project (Grasping Open Science) focuses on developing open infrastructures for fair, inclusive, and transparent research assessment.

The programme will present the project’s main outcomes and insights, while providing a space to discuss how to better recognise the diverse contributions to research – including those traditionally overlooked. Through lectures and expert panels, the conference will address three central themes:

  • Open infrastructures for responsible research assessment
  • Transparency and inclusivity in assessment processes
  • Recognition of contributions to Open Science

The programme will feature two keynote lectures:

  • Dr Elizabeth Gadd will launch the first day with Should we be assessing openness openly or at all?
  • Maria Chiara Carrozza will open the second day with Align, Act, Accelerate. A perspective on Open Science and Responsible Research Assessment.

Thematic sessions will explore the results of the GraspOS project, practical examples of using open infrastructures and research assessment frameworks (such as the SCOPE+i Framework), and community perspectives gained through pilot projects. The programme will also feature a poster session with short presentations and discussions.

Registration is now open. More information about the conference and registration details are available here.
