Survey: Mapping FAIR Support Across European Institutions

Ten years have passed since the FAIR Principles were published. An international team of research data management experts is now mapping how FAIR is currently supported at academic and research institutions across Europe and how this support could be further developed.

The survey aims to map existing models of institutional FAIR support and use them to develop a reusable service blueprint that can help institutions better design and further develop support for FAIR research data practices.

The survey is intended for professionals at academic and research institutions who are involved in supporting research data management, including data stewards, librarians, IT staff, research support staff, repository managers, and policy makers.

The survey takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate. At the end of the survey, you can opt in to a follow-up interview and/or request a summary of the findings.

The deadline for completing the survey is August 31, 2026. You can complete the survey here.

The survey is hosted by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. For questions about the survey, please contact Dr Naeem Muhammad at naeem.muhammad@dataai.be.
