From June 16 to 18, 2026, the second Summer School for Data Stewards will take place, this time set in the scenic surroundings of the Jeseníky Mountains in the village of Malá Morávka. The three-day programme, organised by the EOSC CZ Training Centre, focuses on developing skills in research data management in line with the FAIR principles.

Participants will explore key aspects of working with data – from organisation and description to practical reuse. The programme includes, among other topics, the creation and management of data management plans using the Data Stewardship Wizard, as well as examples of how Jupyter Notebooks can support data analysis and documentation. The summer school will also include discussion sessions aimed at sharing practical experience and strengthening communication skills, which are essential for the role of a data steward. The programme will feature an international guest, Matthias Täschner from Leipzig University. A more detailed programme is being gradually updated by the organisers.

The event is intended for both project-based and institutional data stewards. The language of instruction will be adapted to the composition of participants. Capacity is limited to 35 participants and tends to fill up quickly.
